Say hello to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-teams\/group-chat-software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Microsoft Teams<\/a>, my one-stop-shop to organize and manage my family\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<div class=\"social-share-links container mb-3 m-social f-horizontal f-share\">\n<div class=\"addthis_inline_share_toolbox\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div data-grid=\"col-6\">\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">I\u2019m the kind of person who loves to have everything organized and neat. For years, I used my colorful day planner, writing my daily and weekly appointments, schedule, and to-do list in vibrant colors. And I dragged my planner around with me almost everywhere I went. Of course, this was also the time in my life when I would still print out mapped directions \u201cJust in case.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-3\">Well, now I have maps and directions and even my day planner on my phone. I also have Teams. Teams allows me to share appointments and lists with my husband, kids, and extended family in real-time, all from the ease of my phone or computer. And I love that Teams has become my solution to modernizing my day planner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-3\">For work, I need a project management tool to plan out my photo shoots, campaigns, party setups and events. I generally have four to six setups during each photo shoot that often include props, clothing, products, and food. Sometimes I spend so much time searching for a specific thing in emails, text messages and direct messages for a project. It can get overwhelming! So, I\u2019ve been searching for a project management tool to help me cut down on these forms of communications, save time and keep all my messages organized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Microsoft Teams helps me organize and manage all of this\u2014in one place! I created a \u201cTeams\u201d for my family, friends, vendors, etc. to share to-do lists, streamline group messages and even share GIFs. Teams does it all! I\u2019m going to share my favorite features in Microsoft Teams below and, hopefully, it can help make your life a bit more manageable as well.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 34px; padding-bottom: 24px; clear: both; padding-top: 30px;\">Teams for Family Task Lists<\/h2>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">I absolutely love a good task list. Remember how I told you how I like to stay organized? A written task list can\u2019t be shared and can be lost. Microsoft Teams easily allows you to add people to chats and from there you can create Task Lists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">In a group chat, there are two options at the top: Chat and Dashboard. Toggle to Dashboard and from there select Task List and the + symbol at the top right and name the list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">As an example, I created a task list for my daughter\u2019s eighth birthday party. On the list, I added tasks such as:<\/p>\n<div style=\"display: block; width: 50%; margin: 0 auto;\">\n        <picture style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\"><source srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" media=\"(min-width: 1400px)\" \/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" media=\"(min-width: 1084px)\" \/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" media=\"(min-width: 768px)\" \/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" media=\"(min-width: 540px)\" \/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" media=\"(min-width:0)\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/m365stage.wpengine.com\/en-us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/microsoft-teams-families_To-Do-List_338x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n        <\/picture>\n    <\/div>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Under each Task, you can assign a person to be responsible for the task, and they will get a notice in Teams. You can include a due date and mark a Task as \u201cImportant.\u201d This helps me prioritize the party planning details and make sure everything is on track. I love how you can add detailed notes under each task. For instance, under \u201cmovie set up,\u201d I wrote notes to my husband asking him where he wanted to set the movie up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Finally, you can add an additional checklist under each Task. For example, under \u201corder dinner\u201d I can include the menu items I need to pick up or order and when I finish a checklist item or Task List. I love the satisfaction of crossing things off my list.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 34px; padding-bottom: 24px; clear: both; padding-top: 30px;\">Teams for Family Group Chats\u2014and More<\/h2>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Text messages is the default way to communicate with friends, family, and other parents. I also use texts for work to take care of any emergency situations or to get quick answers. While I love the ease of text messaging, group messages can quickly become overwhelming. At times, I can be off my phone for an hour workout and return to hundreds of text messages which can become very stressful and since I mostly work from my phone, I need to quickly be able to respond to work text messages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">This is why I love Teams. A group chat on Teams allows you to chat, share GIFs and memes, and even create polls. I especially use this as Room Mom. You can even assign tasks within a list to different people with deadlines, how cool is that?<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Teams also allows you to create events, share media, attach documents and photos, share your location, and even mark yourself safe. This has been such a gamechanger for me both personally and professionally!<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph-1\">Ultimately, Teams has given me time back with the people I love the most and has allowed me to create memories that will last a lifetime. I can organize, communicate, and share seamlessly through Teams. It has truly simplified so many aspects of my organization and planning.
